white Apple iPhone 4CUPERTINO, USA - iPhone manufacturer Apple recently held a press conference at its campus where CEO Steve Jobs made a statement confirming that the white iPhone 4 model will start shipping towards the end of July.

The reason given behind the delay was manufacturing difficulties. Lens Technology, which supplies the glass for Apple's iPhone, had difficulty in deciding the quantity and thickness of paint to be used. They were striving to achieve the perfect balance between the opacity and the absolute white color that Apple aims to achieve.

The Cupertino manufacturer has long been known for the kind of attention it pays to aesthetics and is ready to delay the launch of a product till it looks exactly like it wants it to.

The Apple iPhone 4 has been called the most revolutionary upgrade since the launch of the first-generation iPhone. The device runs on in-house developed A4 processor chip and is constructed of glass on both the front and back of the device, with a metal border running along the sides.
